Infected Google Play Apps Impact 2.3 Million Devices

Harmful Android malware called NoVoice was found in more than 50 apps on Google Play, and those apps were downloaded at least 2.3 million times.

Android users who downloaded any of the affected apps from Google Play are most at risk.

Watch for apps on your phone that you do not recognize, strange pop-ups, battery drain, slow performance, or unusual account activity.

What to Do

Google has updated its security software to recognize NoVoice and can now flag or disable the malware’s components, even if they are buried deep inside your system. Go to Google Play Store app → tap your profile icon (top right) → tap Play Protect → tap Scan.
